Geo Mashup WordPress Plugin Release 0.3.1

This is a minor bugfix release. See the download page for more on the plugin. Changes in this release:

  • Fixed a bug that limited the map to 10 markers in some installations
  • Updated links to use the blog URL rather than the installation where appropriate

  1. I was wondering-do you host this site with your own server? Or do you pay for somebody to host it?

I purchased a domain name, and I’m looking into alternatives for hosting it. I don’t know *anything* about this business-but I just thought you’d have some advice.

I think I found a good deal with DNS made easy.com. It’s 4 bucks a month through them-and it seems too good to be true with all the software they provide to build a site.

    What’s your thoughts on this?

Much appreciated-and say thanks to Ann for sending me the photo album!!! Very cool indeed.

  2. I’m just about to go abroad, and really like the look of this plugin for my travelogue. However, I’m having a devil of a time getting it to work. I keep getting the error:

“Sorry, the Google Maps script failed to load. Have you entered your API key in the Geo Mashup Options?”

My geo mashup page is located at http://travelogue.thinkers.org/map/, which is what my GM API key is created for.

Am I missing something really obvious here? I’ve tried substituting a key created for http://travelogue.thinkers.org (in case ~map/ wasn’t being recognized as a subdir), but that didn’t help.

I’m stumped. If there’s any pointer you can give, it would be greatly appreciated!

    WP2.0

  3. I am having the same problem as previous comments. Can’t get the API key to be recognised.

Is it something to do with API version now needs v=2? I tried that but that didn’t work either.

I have had travelog and other google plugins working but would like to give this one a try.

  4. This has to do with the Google API and unlikely is the plugin. I use Google maps in my gallery 2 install and had to wait a few days before my key worked properly. Be patient and see if it works out.

  5. What I want to do on my blog, is every few hours take the oldest post and move it to the
front of the queue, all automatically. Anyone know if there is a plugin that can do this or
a simple way to set up another plugin to do this (use my own feed perhaps)?
    Thanks.
