Good morning from the Taft Hill Road bridge over the Cache La Poudre River. The view from this bridge consists mostly of ponds and rock piles made by local quarry. It’s part of what makes birds love this area, and it was quite nice this morning.

My equine friend seemed to be hiding from the rising sun this morning, but unable to resist peeking out at it. It’s a cold morning, and utterly still. The clear sky reminds me how monstrously big the burning globe of the sun must be to dominate our sky from 92 million miles away.

I like catching the glow of the rising sun through the windows of passing cars when I ride under Shields Street in the morning.

When I emerge from the bike path I ride up Howes Street to work. I thought it would be interesting to contrast this view in different seasons. I also encountered a very large, fluffy Red Fox on the trail this morning who was far too quick and graceful for my camera, and another gorgeous sunrise.

We had an amazingly calm, sunny, warm Christmas day in Fort Collins, so we had our Christmas dinner on the picnic table! Just like summer, but without the mosquitos.
