With Ann healing from surgery this birthday feels unique. We’re striving for the peace she needs to heal, while the world outside feels more turbulent and chaotic than ever. One night in the tent is definitely a step in the right direction. Washoe lake campground works well, with easy access and sites I can set up myself without much schlepping. I set up Ann’s chair and her bed, while she limits her movements to short trips to pee and gather sage. I’m more thankful than ever to share her company, and our life together seems all the more precious while the pressures of work and now the health care system mount.
