Short Leads on Short Wall

Thinking we forgot the book, I pick one of the cracks on Short Wall at random, remembering that their ratings are all very low and thus perfect for getting back into placing gear. Of course I manage to pick the hardest of them to start with. It’s enough to make me shaky, but I get up it okay, then really enjoy the others. The sun on this rock feels like light brown sugar. A guy shows up to free solo some of the same cracks we’re climbing, but I don’t feel self conscious of my helmet and sprawling anchor gear. We’re both just doing what we feel like.

Routes: SOB 5.6, Toe Jam 5.3, Double Crack 5.3,
Donna T’s Crack 5.5
