Kelly’s Rock

We hope the wind will be less severe in the Woodbury desert study area this time around. Things are looking good when we are the first climbers to arrive in sunny, warm conditions. As we climb the wind picks up, and makes the last couple of routes less fun. Overall we have a really good day. I’m feeling more stable leading challenging (for me) routes, and a bit stronger toproping those I can’t do without a lot of falls. I like these routes a little better than those we did previously at the Black and Tan Wall – they feel a little more interesting and less sharp.

Routes: The Awakening 5.9, K-3 5.9, K-5 5.10b (my favorite, challenging flash), K-4 5.11b (TR), Rending of Garments 5.10a, Czech Frogs Say Qua 5.11c (TR)
