Snow Canyon State Park, Utah

We move to this park north of Saint George for a couple of days. There is climbing here, and at least a couple of paved trails Dad is allowed to walk dogs on. The campground is pretty busy which may account for the strict rule enforcement – we get a lecture for letting our cat out among other things. We get four climbs in – all nice, although climbing on sandstone with many fixed pins here takes some getting used to, and we sacrifice a couple of caribiners to enable a rappel on a two pin anchor. The last two routes we do are not in the book, but described to us by another couple, and they’re the best.

Routes: At Islands in the Sky, Twist and Shout 5.7, Kibosh Buttress 5.6, and a nice crack and sport route in the Breakfast Nook area.
