2025.05.15 – 17 Convict Lake Campground, CA

National Forest campground, Site #23. Water, pit toilets, picnic tables, fire rings. $35/night. Even though this is a busy, normal campground I really enjoy being here, especially up against the steep hill behind the campground. The walk around the lake is 3 miles and there are two bridges over the creek so you can walk over to the resort/store/restaurant. We didn’t eat in the restaurant and it’s pretty damn pricey but the word is that it’s a destination place to eat, so maybe we’ll plan to eat there next time! Maddy caught three mice that we know of. Note: The parking spots along the hill are steep so it was challenging to get the camper hooked up again while clutching the truck in reverse up the hill…!
