Chamber Music Festival

We attended one of a dozen concerts in the year-end Nevada Chamber Music Fesitval. It’s been a while since I last saw classical music performed, and this was a good reminder that it’s worth doing now and then. The dedication and ability of classical musicians always amazes me, and they make music that doesn’t do much for me in a recording come alive.

The program:

Mozart: Clarinet Quintet in A major, K. 581
Franklin Cohen, clarinet
Noah Bendix-Balgley and Ruth Lenz, violin
Dustin Budish, viola
Dmitri Atapine, cello

Fauré: Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 120
Orion Weiss, piano
James Buswell, violin
Carol Ou, cello

Dvorák: Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 87
Orion Weiss, piano
Noah Bendix-Balgley, violin
Theodore Kuchar, viola
Clive Greensmith, cello
