We feel uncertain about water on this section, as many of the creeks on the map recently have been little more than swampy puddles. The variety of terrain proves us wrong again, though, and Bear creek as well as many small springs are flowing on this section. We end up carrying more water than we needed to, but our spirits recover at a fine ridgetop lunch spot.

The descent toward Tahoe City begins at Twin Peaks. This area hosts some strange rock formations that look like the ruins of an ancient culture of giants.

We find a nice campsite by Ward creek and anticipate spending a good chunk of the day tomorrow in Tahoe City!
