Maxwell Falls to Lost Creek


In a light rain we continue our westward migration, now comfortably on actual trails in national forest.

The rains have brought up thousands of mushrooms. I’ve never seen so many here.

And the moment comes when we enter “wilderness”!

Wilderness!

The sun graces us for lunch, but then a huge electrical storm rolls in. We’re pelted with hail for forty minutes with nonstop thunder cracking above. Pete gets cold. The storm lifts just as we go over the bare ridge to Lost Creek.
