Movie: The Innocent

cover

A gruesome, grating cold war spy story. Isabella Rosellini and Anthony Hopkins do their best to redeem it, but the main character never earned my sympathy. I got very tired of watching his endless attempts to dispose of a dismembered body in two giant suitcases.

  1. was this story essentially about him trying to dispose of the body?

a “cold war era spy movie” sounds intriguing. but you don’t make this one sound very worfwhile.

  2. “Firefox” has its moments.

there’s a also another one, but i can’t think of the name of it. but it was only ok. so yeah, hard to recommend that one even if i could remember it. has some neat twists… like there’s this chic that gets killed by a terrorist and she’s a CIA analyst and her husband is a computer geek for the CIA so he .. actually, it’s pretty good. i will try to figure out what it is.

  3. no.. g00gle didnt’ come through for me. it find something called “goat store”, but i wasn’t curious enough to find out about that one.
i need to figure out some more of the actors names.
    it was decidedly “B”.
i hope you’ll be able to sleep at night.

  4. Good Cold War Spy movie? How about “The Spy who came in from the Cold” (1965) with Richard Burton? (I love Richard Burton)

  5. yezzzzzzz.. Richard Burton definitely had talent.

“Where Eagles Dare” was an incredible WWII spy/commando movie. i have. Clint Eastwood is in it, along with a good supporting cast of German / WWII character actors.

  6. I do believe that your dad and I saw Where Eagles Dare together. (Ask him!) That film is so memorable that even I remember it! Richard Burton really was fabulous.
