Our first run on snow like styrofoam brings back memories of the horrendous ice I encountered on my lift day last year, but as the day wears on snow piles up faster and faster, making the best run the last! Followed up by Sushi at the Atlantis in Reno, this is a memorable Christmas day…

Had a fun run today, sloshing and thrumpfing along some of the lower east canyons of Peavine with Gabe, Sara, and Chad. The snow provided both some hero moments and some wipeouts.

Some colder storms have definitely improved the snow. Ann and I brave a cold wind as we follow the ridge from the Mount Rose pass up to Tamarack Peak, and I take some short and sweet runs on the return trip. Nice to finally make up to this little summit we’ve hiked all around! Ann…

I knew all the snow machine trailers parked between the pass and Incline lake must be playing somewhere, and Relay peak is the place! Despite the buzzing I enjoy the gorgeous day with Ann and Gabe (and four-legged Dora), and the northwest side of the peak even looks alluring enough for a return trip methinks……

There’s a chilly breeze and the sun is low, but conditions smile just enough to be pleasant for this outing in the Snake River canyon with Ann’s brother Ryan and sister in law Danielle.
