Test Run: Joshua Tree Departure

I leave work at noon, eager to get to Joshua Tree in time to grab a campsite before they are gone for the holiday weekend. I told my cousin Anabel we would take her camping this weekend, and it will be awkward if she shows up and we don’t have a site. Ann has the car packed and ready to go, including the bag I put together last night. Things are going smoothly, so we decide there is time to pick up a burrito and coffee before leaving town. This allows just enough time for me to remember I’ve left my rain & wind gear in my backpack in the closet, and Ann to remember that she intended to bring some extra gear for Anabel. We head back home.
