The first challenge was to get out of Ridgecrest and go to Redlands, where the food was prepared and visits began.
It was a flurry of packing clothes, taking down the screenhouse in the back yard, and stuffing everything into the rental car.
Salads, myriad beverages, and cinnamon rolls were made and moved, but the creation of the wedding cake dominated the proceedings.
